We Walk in Moonlight, One Night Only

For one show only, Full Circle Dance Company and Ballet Theatre of Maryland will present We Walk in Moonlight: A Collaboration of Movement, Myth, and Mystery at The Gordon Center on Saturday, October 28. During this mixed repertory performance, members of both companies will share the stage for the world premiere of a new work by Travis D. Gatling entitled En.tranced.

Gatling’s new choreography is the centerpiece of the evening. His work, which explores the physical responses our bodies make when we are dreaming, synthesizes the unique qualities of both companies. Each company will also present its dancers in favorite works that evoke the show’s dreamtime theme. Longtime Full Circle choreographer Misty Yackshaw's Daydreams explores the secret inner worlds of characters who share an office. Her witty, vivid, surprising storytelling carries the audience through a range of emotions.

Full Circle will also present company signature work Angels Unawares by Travis Gatling. In this audience favorite, dramatic lighting and athletic movement bring to life otherworldly beings who inspire awe with their power and yet also experience moments of vulnerability.

Among the works Ballet Theatre of Maryland will perform will be Ultraviolet by Michael West, Jr. In a recent review for the Maryland Theatre Guide, critic Justin Rustle wrote of Ultraviolet: "West’s duet with Isaac Martinez brought the moment in the evening where the emotional stakes felt the most real, urgent, and human. As each dancer hoisted the other, we were treated to a glimpse of a different modality of togetherness built around mutual support, rather than classical shapes."
